Is my hourly freelance rate the same as an employee's hourly-equivalent salary?+
No. An employee's salary already has payroll taxes, benefits and paid leave covered by the employer. A freelance rate needs to absorb all of that itself, so a freelancer's break-even hourly rate is typically noticeably higher than the straight annual-to-hourly conversion shown here.
What working weeks per year should I use?+
52 minus your vacation, sick leave and public holidays. A common default is 48-50 weeks for full-time employment, or fewer if you're modeling a freelance schedule with more time off.
